A 6-week group training course that turns your new puppy into a confident, well-mannered member of the family — taught in our kennel-free Las Vegas facility.
The Golden Window Why Puppyhood Is the Time to Train
The weeks between 12 and 20 weeks of age are your puppy's socialization window — when experiences with new dogs, people, sounds, and handling shape their temperament for life. Group classes do double duty: your puppy learns real skills and practices them around the biggest distraction there is — other puppies.
We cap every cohort at six puppies, so this isn't a demonstration you watch. You'll be handling your own puppy every week, with a trainer at your elbow.
Week by Week The 6-Week Curriculum
Each class builds on the last — from first introductions to a graduation-day run of every skill.
Getting Started & Engagement
- Puppy orientation and class rules
- Name recognition and attention to handler
- Marker word such as “Yes!” — luring and rewarding correctly
- Sit · beginning recall (“Come!”) · following the handler on leash
- Appropriate puppy greetings
- Handling: ears, paws, mouth and collar
- Discussion: socialization, vaccinations, biting and appropriate play
Homework: name game, sit, handling, and 5–10 very short recalls each day.
Leash Skills & Self-Control
- Review Week 1 · attention around other puppies
- Sit for greeting instead of jumping
- Beginning loose-leash walking
- Introduce down and “Leave it”
- Collar-grab game — having the collar held becomes a positive
- Short controlled puppy-to-puppy interaction
- Confidence exercise with different surfaces and objects
Homework: sit before meals and doors, down, leave it, and short leash walks.
Come, Stay & Handling
- Review sit, down and leash walking
- Recall games — making “Come!” exciting
- Beginning sit-stay and down-stay · release word (“Okay” / “Free”)
- Waiting briefly at a doorway
- Handling for vet and groomer: feet, nails, ears, teeth and body
- Confidence course: low platforms, surfaces, cones, unusual objects
- Discussion: preventing resource guarding
Homework: recalls throughout the day, 5–10 second stays, and daily body handling.
Real-Life Puppy Manners
- Loose-leash walking, sit and down — now with mild distractions
- Leave it · introduce “Drop it”
- Go to a mat/place
- Polite greetings with people — no jumping
- Waiting at doors · calm behavior around another dog
- Discussion: chewing, digging, barking and adolescent behavior
Homework: mat work, polite greetings, leave/drop it, and leash practice in new locations.
Building Reliability
- Recall past distractions · emergency recall game
- Sit-stay and down-stay with increased distance
- Loose-leash walking around other puppies
- Leave it with food and toys
- Go to mat and settle
- Introduce heel position as a fun game
- Confidence/problem-solving exercise · accepting examination by another person
Homework: practice skills in at least three different locations.
Puppy Graduation 🎓
A fun final class that puts everything together while we evaluate what each puppy has learned.

The Details Who It's For
- Age — puppies 12–20 weeks at the start of class. All breeds and mixes welcome.
- Health — current on age-appropriate vaccines; bring vet records to class one.
- What to bring — flat collar or harness, 6-ft leash, tiny treats. We supply the rest.
- Handlers — one handler per puppy; family welcome to watch.

Common Questions Puppy Class FAQs
Puppies should be 12–20 weeks old at the start of class and current on age-appropriate vaccinations. Bring your vet records to the first class.
The full 6-week course is $249 — about $42 per class — including one free daycare day, weekly practice sheets, and a graduation certificate and photo.
Saturdays 10–11 AM at K9 Rox Club, 3110 E. Sunset Road, Suite H, Las Vegas. The next cohort runs September 12 – October 17, 2026.
You'll get catch-up notes for any missed class, plus a make-up option in the next cohort so your puppy doesn't fall behind.
A flat collar or harness, a 6-foot leash (no retractables), and your puppy's favorite small treats. We supply everything else.
